The Royal Botanic Gardens was founded in 1846 and displays almost 50,000 individual plants representing 8,500 different species.

Located at Birdwood Avenue. Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria is approximately two kilometres from Melbourne’s city centre.
Street metered parking is available for up to four hours. Please note parking is limited depending on nearby events.
Southern Cross Lawn is opposite the Shrine of Remembrance, next to the gardens visitor centre & Observatory Gate
Please be aware that the location of performances in the gardens varies depending on the production. Make sure you follow the signs and if you’re confused reach out to the ASC team, we’re happy to help guide you!
Tickets to all our productions can be purchased online via our online ticketing system or Ticketmaster. You may also call our Box Office between 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday during off-peak season and Monday – Saturday 9am – 5pm during peak season. Our box office is also open one-hour before every performance. Tickets can also be purchased on site from our Box Office 1.5 hours before Shakespearean productions and 1 hour before others.
