Join us for an intensive week of hilarity as we equip students with a comedy performance toolkit, using Shakespeare’s best comedic moments!
We’ll dive into physical comedy, improvisation, clowning, voice work, and film. Since we’re now in the self-tape era of the 2020s (not the 1620s!) During a film-focused day, students will explore the shift in acting technique required when performing comedy on camera.
Before the workshop, students will receive a folder of Shakespeare’s greatest comedic excerpts to read. They'll also be assigned a short piece of text to learn. The week will culminate in a small showcase of scenes, monologues, and the techniques we've explored together.
Recommended for students with prior experience in workshops or school drama.
Those ready to take on a challenging but rewarding week, or who are considering studying acting or performance after high school.
