With Spring soon to be in full swing why not shake it up with exploring some of Shakespeare’s soliloquys, sonnets and scenes and all the stuff an actor’s dreams are made of? Exploring, text, direct address, and scene work from plays such as Julius Caesar, Macbeth, Henry V, Hamlet and King Lear, participants will have the opportunity to choose their text and bring it up to performance on the last day of the workshop week. Workshops will be investigating characters’ motivation and context while exploring Shakespeare’s themes and language through drama exercises and games. Participants will explore selected works and choose one to rehearse and perform.
With professional actors guiding the process, young actors will develop techniques for learning lines, character development, physical and vocal techniques, and experimenting with form, style, and adaptation.
