Calling the next generation of acting talent to join The Australian Shakespeare Company in producing a feature filmed based on Shakespeare’s magical comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Cast by audition, the young ensemble will rehearse during Term 3 and 4, culminating in a public screening of the final feature film.
Participants perform alongside experienced company actors and are led by a team of industry professionals learning the craft of performing Shakespeare, acting for camera, authentic character creation as well as devising sections of a modern script.
Open to students 12 years and over, this rare industry experience is one to relish. Previous experience is not essential but a professional, positive attitude is key!
Rehearsals will initially be held online, moving to in-person rehearsals when restrictions ease. Extra rehearsals will be called in production week; closer to the shoot in December.
